WTAE, ACHD Seeks To Clear The Air
PITTSBURGH, Updated 8:06 a.m. EST November 17, 2000 -- November is Smoking Cessation month.
The Great American Smokeout, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, was Nov. 16.
Healthy 4 Life, the WTAE-TV/Allegheny County Health Department cooperative two-year commitment toward helping the region get and stay well, received cooperation from restaurants.
The group asked that all restaurants in western Pennsylvania go smoke-free.

Area schools participating in the national smokeout are Carrick High School, both Knoxville Middle School and Knoxville Elementary School in the Pittsburgh Public School District and the Falk School, which is a private school affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh.
